Our Story

In the heart of the Bay Area, our journey began with a simple yet transformative hike -- a mother seeking a deeper connection with her teenage daughter. This experience, shared with other like minded mothers and their adolescent daughters, illuminated the profound impact of nature and mindful activities in strengthening the mother-daughter bond. Inspired by this revelation, Lacora 'Cora' Benard established 'The Way We Mom', dedicated to fostering meaningful connections between mothers and their teen daughters. Our mission is to create restorative and adventurous experiences that nurture these relationships, offering a sanctuary from the distractions of daily life. Each activity is thoughtfully curated to encourage open communication, mutual understanding, and lasting memories. We believe that shared experiences in nature and wellness practices can bridge generational gaps, fostering a deeper connection that endures beyond our retreats. Join us on this journey to rediscover and strengthen the unique bond between mothers and daughters,

Meet The Founder

Hi, I'm LaCora "Cora" Benard,

I established The Way We Mom, a community designed for mothers and their teen daughters to enhance their relationship through restorative activities like hiking, yoga and more.

As a mother of both a teenager and a toddler, l sought opportunities for meaningful one-on-one interactions with my teen daughter. Recognizing the significance of adolescence, I aimed to maintain a strong connection with my daughter during this crucial period, despite the challenges of managing the needs of both a teenager and a toddler on the spectrum.

We're always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect.
